Small animal (caged), cats, dogs, birds, domestic fowl etc - As many visits per day as you require to include feeding, water, cage/litter tray cleaning and plenty of fuss and play. Experienced at giving medication including insulin injections. Unlike kennels and catteries, your pets are not required to have their annual boosters. It is also much more relaxing for them to stay in their own environment. (This is not always the case for dogs if you are to be away for longer than a day if they are used to regular attention).
Dogs - From January I will be able to take on more dog walks preferably within a 5 mile radius of North Cotes. As small animals but also including 1/2 hour, 3/4 hour or one hour walks when you work long hours or are away for the day. Only YOUR dog(s) will be walked at one time. I do not do group walks so no bundling into the car or chance of injury/illness from another dog. If your dog has a tendency to jump up, please make sure it's claws are trimmed!
Equines - various duties to suit the needs of you and your horse including mucking out, rugging up, feeding, grooming, turn out/in, exercise etc. Also be present for the vet/farrier or dentist if you are unavailable. Mucking out equipment etc needs to be available. I have owned my own horses for many years and been riding for 40 years. I have had plenty of experience dealing with nervous and bargy ponies and horses.
Pet to vet- if you are unable to take your pet to the vet I can do this for you and stay with your pet
I have third party public liability insurance with Pet Business Insurance for public liability and injury to your animal whilst in my care. It is always advisable to have pet insurance of your own to cover illness or disease.
HOW IT WORKS:
An initial consultation will be arranged at yours so that I can meet the animals in question. You are always welcome to come and meet mine so you can see how well cared for they are. Before any pet service takes place, I always like the owner to be present while I meet the animals to reassure them that we will all be fine in your absence.
During this visit there will be the boring form filling. This is to establish not just your basic routines but also what quirks your pets may have, contact numbers, vets etc. The better my understanding of a particular animal, the better our relationship will be in the future.
Each client's needs and circumstances are different and I will always try and work around yours and your animals needs.
It is up to you whether you want me to keep keys or just collect and return per contracted job.
Each visit will last a minimum of 20 minutes. If you think the duties will take more than 1/2 hour then time is charged per 1/4 hour thereafter.
Payment is due on the first day of the job. If I am to attend on a fairly regular basis, other payment terms can be arranged. Payment methods are cash or bank transfer. Sorry no cheques unless a week in advance.
Please note, that I visit only and do not actually "sit", that is, I do not stay at your house while you are away. However, you can arrange as many visits per day as you feel necessary.
I do not usually ride others horses as this would be on my own personal insurance but I'm happy to discuss ridden exercise. I am insured to lunge, do groundwork or walk out.
References can be supplied from my present clients.
On a regular basis, I currently mind: horses (varying from Shetland ponies up to 17hh ID's), dogs (from Affenpinschers to Rottweilers), cats (pedigree and nonpedigree), geese, ducks, chickens, peacocks, ferrets, rabbits, guinea pigs, rats and goats.

I have a good affinity with all animals especially the fur and feather variety. Love snakes but must admit I'm not keen on spiders!
